To have everything they ask for is also a form of neglect. To grow up being a despot is setting them up for emotional failure. They will be rich, they won’t be happy (unless the pull a Buddha move).
Can you imagine that foul from some working people Leningrad's inner court, that scum , robed his country, his people and on that money keeps himself, his lover and their children in such luxury, and people are rotting in their poor towns and villages without job, drinking to death. It is Russia! (Thank you for new subscriber)
Hear me out: the first election after Putin's death, in which a Navalny and a Putin go toe-to-toe, is known to future historians as the birth of Russia's two-party monarchy — there are two royal families, they compete for the throne once every 6 years.
This is very much like the plot of Chuck Palanhuik’s novel Not Forever But For Now. It doesn’t end well! Follows two brothers exactly like this in this setup.
Except in the novel the kids are the children of a hitman used by high level people.
It’s very dark! One of the most messed up books I’ve ever read. Maybe the most messed up. Just a heads up. Very politically incorrect also, like only Chuck with his devoted fans and fight club legacy could get this published.
I need to read "Siddhartha" after all-thank you
Yeah, it's a good one.
I never thought I would feel sorry for any of Putin’s entourage, but now I do.
They get paid well, at least. On the other hand, they can very easily get disappeared.
I meant the children 🤣
I wouldn't feel sorry for them, they have everything they ask for. But they are still horribly misparented.

Probably, true. But then, compared to the rest of Russia...
Ok, you win 🤣🤣🤣
In Russia, I noticed the only ones that get treated well, are: cats. Ivan and Vladik come close.

Yes, this is inhuman. That's one of the things that truly hurts me.
Thank you. We all go through such an awful experience with our former country.

Well, there are two heads on that eagle...
No, I'm sure that Ivan will be able to marry Darya, and they will settle it between themselves in a tight family circle.
"This, in general, is the life of old-school royalty, but it reminded me of someone specific." -- it reminded me of Pu Yi.
Well, this is not impossible, although still improbable.

Interesting, I'll check it out. Thanks!

I don't mind that (after Wasp Factory I'm immune, i think), but thanks for the heads up.
I haven’t read Wasp 🐝 Factory! Haha maybe I’m ready!
It is written partially for the chock value, as a first book of a very talented writer can be. But I did enjoy it when I read it.
I came here from Astralcodexten expecting you would draw a connection to the Ottoman Golden Cages, then maybe the Last Emperor.
Yes, these all are reasonable, of course.
Reminds me of https://archive.is/Awj6V (haven’t seen it, only read that review, which I found kind of haunting)
Interesting. Haven't seen it either, but "The Act of Killing" was insane. Thanks for the tip!
